BEWARE Facebook Scammers

We have recently seen a huge increase in scam groups pretending to sell Mudcontrol slabs, both new and used.

We are the only stockist and distributor of Mudcontrol slabs in the U.K.

Typically, these scammers are advertising slabs in Facebook groups using our/customers photos, attempting to lure you in to giving a deposit to secure the slabs. Additionally, they may respond to posts asking for second hand slabs on pages other than ours.

In some cases, prospective buyers have been given an address to collect slabs from and a supposed contact number only to find that both are fake, and have only been given to ensure a deposit is paid up front. Please be aware of this when communicating with sellers online.

Please look at post author's details and/or group admin details, many are not based in the UK, which is an indicator of a potential scam.

We advertise second hand slabs on our Mudcontrol Ltd Facebook Page on behalf of customers at no charge. We then simply put interested parties in touch with the seller who then continues the communications and arrangements. We NEVER suggest deposits are made or taken, and would always suggest a cash on collection transaction, although Mudcontrol have no further involvement, financial or otherwise, after initial contact is made.

Please feel free to contact us if you wish to sell second hand slabs and we will gladly advertise them for you, but we implore you to NOT engage with anyone online unless the contact is made through our Facebook page.

The going rate for used Mudcontrol slabs is £7.50-£8 per slab, lifted ready to go, a bit less if the buyer has to lift them. They usually sell within the hour, sometimes within minutes.
